What it does

The logbook, the service file and the drawer of receipts, finally in one place.

Most of a boat's life lives in paper, photos and memory. Keelz keeps it together and tells you what is coming next.

Reminders that know your boat

Services fall due on engine hours or months, whichever comes first. Red, amber and green tell you what needs doing before the season, not after.

Service history that adds up

Every job, part, cost and hours reading in one log. Hand it to an engineer, an insurer or the next owner with one tap.

Engines, drives and kit

Oil types and capacities, shaft, saildrive or outdrive service items, batteries, electronics, rigging and sails. Each with photos and manuals.

Safety kit and expiry dates

Flares, liferaft, extinguishers, EPIRB and lifejackets, with the dates they run out and a nudge before they do.

Documents in one place

Insurance, certificates, receipts and warranties, kept against the boat and flagged before they expire.

Checklists you can share

Daily checks, handovers and the pre-departure safety check. Build your own, then print, save as PDF or share the signed-off record.

SOS screen, one tap away

Your MMSI, call sign and live position on a red button at the top of every screen. Once opened, it works with no signal.

Built for fleets and hire too

Run several boats, take bookings, invoice customers and see which boat needs attention next across the whole fleet.

About Keelz

By a boater, for boaters

Keelz was started by Lewis Huddy, who spends his time around boats and the people who own them. Too much of a boat's life was kept in a drawer of receipts, a phone full of photos and a note sellotaped by the radio. Keelz puts it all in one place, and tells you what is coming before it catches you out.

It is built with owners, engineers and hire operators, and it keeps getting better with their feedback.

  • One place for everything about your boat: equipment, servicing, safety kit, documents, checklists and costs, with reminders before anything falls due. It works on your phone, tablet and computer.

  • No. Open it in your browser on any phone, tablet or computer and it works straight away. On a phone you can add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app.

  • Motor boats, sailing yachts, motor-sailers and boats with no engine at all. When you add a boat you choose how it is driven, and the sections it needs (rigging and sails for a yacht, for example) switch on automatically.

  • For the first 30 days everything is switched on. After that you keep a free account with your boat, engine and electronics details, so nothing you entered is lost. Premium brings back reminders, service history, documents and photos for £3.99 a month, or £29.99 a year (save 37%).

  • £29.99 a year (or £3.99 a month) for your first boat, and £19.99 a year for each extra boat, a third off. Running 10 boats or more? Talk to us about a commercial account.

  • Yes. Any service record, checklist or history can be printed, saved as a PDF or sent with your phone's share button, by email, WhatsApp or anything else you use.

  • Yes. A fleet account shows every boat in one place, takes bookings, sends invoices to customers and keeps each boat's maintenance on track.

  • The SOS screen keeps working with no connection once it has been opened on your device. The rest of the app needs a connection to save your changes.

  • No. It helps you keep on top of your boat, but it is not a distress beacon and does not replace proper safety equipment, a VHF radio or the Coastguard. In an emergency use your VHF (DSC distress or channel 16), your EPIRB or PLB, or call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.

  • You, and anyone you send a record to. If a fleet or hire company manages the boat, its fleet manager sees it too, and hire customers see only their own booking and what the owner shares with them. The Keelz team looks at records only to run the service and help with support, and the pages you open are logged so problems can be traced. You can export your records whenever you like.

Give your boat a proper logbook.
